A Surprise – you’ve gotta be in it to win it :)

4 Jan s7003915

Afternoon all

As promised, I have a little surprise for you, more about that later…..

I couldn’t sleep last night, so in the wee dark hours I got my Strawberry Kisses stuff out and made a card :)

This one is using one of new Card Mate’s, which are a little like card companion’s but A5 with a space to stamp your image :)

I love these designs, There so me, when putting this range together I have indulged myself a little I am afraid.  I’ve also used a sheet of the flowers from the CD and stamped the Birthday Kitten Image which I have coloured with Spectrum Noir pens.

I’ve matted and layered with some core’dinations card which I think has provided the perfect base for the card mate (Hint hint as to my surprise – keep reading)

I’ve coloured the Birthday Kitten with Spectrum Noir Pens, which can be found on the Crafter’s Companion Website.  I’ve printed the Card Mate onto Neenah Card, because I wanted to colour in the stamped image with my Speccies!  Neenah is a really good medium tp print on actually because it’s very smooth you get a stunning result and fabulous colour representation.

You can see the stamped and coloured Kitty a little closer in this image

I cut out an layered one of the flowers printed from the CD again, and finished it off in the centre with a little ribbon and a button.

OK – now for my SURPRISE – I hope you are following the Inspiration Blog Hop over on the Crafter’s Companion Blog.  Where you are in with a chance to win the CD and stamps, winner announced tomorrow.

Well, I have a pad of Core’dination’s SO MOD to ……… GIVE AWAY! …….. I know I’ve lost the plot, I should be hanging on to it by my finger nails, but it’s so perfect to go with the Strawberry Kisses Range I wanted to give you the opportunity to win it :)

All you have to do, is, leave a comment on this post telling me which of the stamps from the new range is your favourite and why, and then leave me a link to either your blog or Facebook page, or what ever you have…. where you have linked to this post and explained that I have a competition to win a pad of Core’dination’s SO MOD, and link to my post here.  It’s worth 29.99 so it’s well worth winning :)

I will draw the winner tomorrow evening before I set off to the studio’s and announce it on my blog.

Let’s see how many comments we can get. GOOD LUCK.

Happy New Year and some Strawberry Kisses

2 Jan

Good afternoon all, and a very Happy New Year to you all

I hope you have all had a fantabulous Festive Season, I have relaxed, eaten (too much) drank (too much) and laughed – a lot!.

I am so excited that I can bring you the very first Pick of the Week of 2012 on Friday 6th January with the amazing Strawberry Kisses range, if you don’t love this, as I say, rather too often, I will show my bum in Fenwick’s Window!

I am sure you have been following our inspirational blog hop over at our Blog.  The design team have been showing you some amazing finished examples of how this range will work, and I am absolutley loving them.

I wanted to take some time to show you some of my favourite bits from the CD, and the stamps too, because in my humble opinion, we will have to be going some to up our game after this one, its simply STUNNING! and so so useable, for many different things.  so here we go my first example for you a fabulous card
using one of the BRAND NEW “Stamping Companions” Oh how I just blooming love these !

This card has been made with a stamping companion from the cd, printed onto neenah, then layered onto core’dination card and coloured with spectrum noir pens ! Everything you can see on this card has been taken from the stamping companion sheet, with the exception of the stamped kitty and the cutie sentiment which has been stamped onto one of the printed elements and coloured in….. I live the sentiments on these stamps, unusual, and able to be coloured to match your project….. Anyway enough waffling for now

Keep popping back as I try to show you more, and on Wednesday there will be a little surprise up for grabs so don’t miss it …..

See you Friday

e-craft Happy Dancing……….

3 Dec

Good morning,

I’ve been up since 6.30 I can’t sleep I am so excited for my shows tomorrow! – but I do have some excellent shows today too.  I’ve been playing with my e-craft this morning and I love it so much that I actually did a Happy Dance in the Living Room, to the tune of one my most favourite songs in the whole wide world so I thought I know who will appreciate this and it’s the wonderful  Marcea, with her Music Saves the Soul Saturday, so I thought I’d nip on here and post :)

My Happy Dance song is the fantastic Tina Turner with Proud Mary (honestly I ‘m happy dancing as we speak :) ) she is a legend! – enjoy this extended version – more potential for happy dancing.

I am going to photograph my e-craft favourites at some point today and come back and share them with you before the shows tomorrow, so you can all do happy dances too :)

Music saves my soul Saturday …..

23 Oct

OK I know its Sunday,

I think I need to Tattoo this on my arm so I don’t forget – Sorry Marcea, but here I am now, Joining in as promised, and I will really make an effort to remember every Saturday I PROMISE!

I love this idea for a weekly event from the lovely Marcea, (I love Marcea :) )

I think this is a wonderful idea as music has saved my soul many times……. This week I would like to share two with you one that evokes wonderful memories, and the other that just makes we want to crank it loud and sing along when ever I hear it. So for the first it has to be this one, which reminds me of my son dancing around the living room marching like a soldier in circles with his dad to the tune. It is one of the first songs he ever took notice of and he loved it – still does!

The second one is one of my favourite groups of all time (apart from take that, and many many others) The Proclaimers, now I could have put the whole album on here, but if I had to choose the one which which I turn up so the windows rattle and the floor pulsates its this one! go on try it Turn it up LOUD :)

I could keep going with loads more! – Marcea, thank you I have had such amazing fun doing this and I am smiling and singing and guess what listening to the whole blooming album now – MWAH to you

Enjoy – L x

Strictly Craft Dancing – what you have all been waiting for :)

13 Oct

Good Evening all

It’s taken me a while, but I’ve fiddled and faddled and here it is, the now infamous Strictly Craft Dancing with Dean Wilson and myself :) – I have a right good chuckle at this I can tell you!

My bags are packed,, I’ve had one little Vino Collapso, strictly for medicinal purposes of course!, and now a right good gold belly laugh at this. You never know maybe Dean and I will get our dancing shoes on the POTW this week, I believe I have Dean for 2 whole hours tomorrow night, so really looking forward to that as we get on so well, our sense of humour is very similar.

So here we go from me to you – ENJOY!

Apologies for the poor vision and sound, If I told you what I’d had to do to get this on here for you, you wouldn’t believe it!

SWALK Winter Cheer – Joy Abound

13 Oct s7003462

Morning all

No SWALK card from me yesterday as you might have seen the little Sneaky Video Clip of the going’s on at Crafter’s Towers Sara posted on facebook :) – and I had no make-up on, and my hair was very un-done! LOL!

Here is my Sneak Peek for the POTW, this will be the last Sneak Peek from me (but not my last post! hint hint :) ) – I have lots of packing and organising to do do, to get myself off down to Peterborough to be ready for the shows tomorrow morning!

This is the infamous and very popular kissing couple with a lovely winter twist, perfect for winter Engagement’s, Wedding’s, Anniversaries, and I Love You’s, ahh it makes my heart sing …..

Hopefully you can see how the pretty papers from the CD all tone in perfectly so you can create lovely layers which will always compliment but never over-power the main image.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I’ll see you tomorrow :)

Butterfly and Lace …. Another must have !

12 Oct

Morning all

Today I have another project to share with you, this is also on my dresser alongside the Lily’s, and I have to say this is so simple to create and really effective when finished.

This beautiful lace border is cut from a die! – Isn’t it a thing of wonder and beauty, I can tell you that so many of my creations will be showcasing this beautiful die, it is so stunning.

I have glittered the lace border, and it looks, well, just WOW, in “real life” the Butterfly has been created using a stamp and die from the heartfelt range on the Crafter’s Companion Website

The butterfly die is from the Decorative Butterfly/Border set – and the matching stamp is from the Posy patch garden delights stamp set. Honestly I have struggled, and been quite disappointed in the past with lots of butterfly stamps and or dies. These two work together an absolute treat, with quite stunning results, and even better than that, I haven’t had to try to cut it out!

I have written and photographed a project on how to make this card, you can see this over on the Crafter’s Companion News Blog

I know you have all gone absolutely crazy mad for these, so we have placed another order for the things that sold out yesterday! – however, you can place a pre-order and get them reserved for you, and they should be here in just a couple of days :)

Hope you like :)

Have Fun

Lovely Lily’s – you simply must look at these …..

11 Oct pic-131

Good Morning

hopefully if the system is working, my Sneak Peek for today will have already self posted and you will have seen my lovely little Mince Pie guy :)

However, this new range I have been working on at the weekend is truly AMAZING – I just love it. It’s a brand new range we have in at Crafter’s Companion, I spotted it when I was over at CHA in January and July, and I have to say I am absolutely in love with it.

This is just one example of the beautiful types of floral cards you will be able to make.

It’s a new and unique system of cutting dies and rubber stamps which work together seamlessly to create stunning results, such as these Lily’s. It’s rare that I make a card that I put up on my own mantle piece, because I want to look at it every time I walk past it! and also one that I am absolutely not under any circumstances willing to give away! LOL – but this is it, and it was soooooooooo incredibly easy, and quick! yes quick and easy! to do.

Pop over to the Crafter’s Companion News and Views Blog as I have written and photographed a detailed step by step project so you can make these Lily’s too :) . If you want to view the whole range that is available pop over to Crafter’s Companion to see it there.

Here is a close up of the flowers, I just love them, and the really cool thing is, in each set of stamps and dies, you get six different sizes! I know Six! – so you can make tiny little embellishments and accents for your cards, or wonderful statement pieces, like the ones I have done! Imagine this in shades of ivory as a wedding card, with just a touch of glitter, mmmmmm think I am going to have to make this one, i’m excited about it already!

Also, and this is very important. This is not the largest Lily you can make! I know! there is a larger one too, which I am determined to make into a floral decoration, on the top of a gift box, also I am thinking for a wedding it would make amazing table decorations. AND! are you ready for this? – that beautiful filigree corner also comes in the set of dies for the petals and leaves!

…. OK so this is only one set of stamps and set of dies I am raving about here, and the possibilities are endless. Have a look at the whole range over at the Crafter’s Companion website, but keep coming back here too, because I have another equally beautiful thing of wonder to show you, coming very very soon indeed :)

let me know what you think, I’m dying to know :)

Have fun
