Messing around

Good afternoon all

I should be chastised by you all quite vociferously! for my absolutely shoddy lack of blogging lately! in my defence, i’ve been here there and everywhere, and not had a blooming minute to myself!

So the first little minute I did have, I have had a little play with one of my all time favourite stamps from the Strawberry’s Kisses range, and made this card for my Niece Sarah’s 17th Birthday which was yesterday.

It was not all plain sailing however! as my blooming printer ran out of ink, mid paper print from the CD, so I had to go rootling in my paper stash, a very hard and tedious job! Ahem 😉  I found this stunning set  in a little stash I had been given by the lovely Claire Hamer, and I love turquoise at the minute, everything I do seems to be turquoise, so they were perfect!

The papers are from October Afternoon, and I have to be honest I had not heard of them till Claire introduced me, and it may be a new mini addiction, they have a lovely retro feel.  I am also quite pleased with the result because I think it shows that this Strawberry’s Kisses range, will work with anything you have in your stash currently, I think this stamp goes perfectly coloured in matching turquoise and red with retro papers from October Afternoon, and it’s not a look I had had set out to achieve initially, so a happy little accident :).

The Image has been coloured with my Spectrum Noir Pens, I’ve used BT1, BT2, BT4 and BT7, PP1, IG1, IG2 and IG3, PP3, PP5 and DR7, CT1, CT2 and CT4.

I have used a die-cut swirl to show off the perfectly matching epiphany embellishment.  I love the Epiphany range and I think once of these vintage felt flowers, with a custom Epoxy centre using circle 14 and papers to match the card base really does tie the whole thing together, if you haven’t tried Epiphany Embellishment tools yet, please do, as I cannot live without them now!

Finally the insude of the card has been finished to the same standard as the front, I really like to do this, as I feel it adds a real touch of luxury to the card and ties the whole design together well.

I have extended the punched white border further down on the inside, to provide the perfect place to write your message.

I am pleased I photographed this one, as it’s now in Sarah’s possession, and I think if I hadn’t been making it for her, it would have remained on my shelf in the craft room for me to look at and occasionally stroke the prettiness of it 🙂

Just as a little warning too.  I am probably going to undergo a blogathon, this weekend, as I have so much I want to share with you all! as always its feast or famine with me, and the next couple of days will be a feast!

See you soon
