I found my thrill…………………….

……………………………..On Blueberry Hill

On blueberry hill ……when I found you
The moon stood still ……on blueberry hill
And lingered until ……my dreams came true

Oh OK I’ll stop singing – its not pretty anyway!, and get to the point.  I have in my possession an A4 pad of FABULOUS papermania Signature Range Blueberry Hill papers and O how I love them, love them, love them ………………… I bought the new docrafts magazine at the weekend and saw these papers (so I persuaded hubby that we needed new plants in the garden the following day – there is a craft shop, and papermania supplier at the garden centre I decided we need to go to, because they have nice plants!   heheheh he believed me!.    So I rushed home and made this, I also used the free stamp from the front of the magazine which are very useful indeed (I dont’ normally say that about free stamps, so that is a huge compliment too!)  The papers are in lovely shades of palest pink and blue and cream, with lovely florals, bold corner rose designs and pretty plaids and paisley - YOU NEED THEM! – and they are soooooooo ME!

So here’s what I did – I cut and scored a piece of A4 card to make a 6″ x 6″ square card (or 5.75 x 5.75 if you would like the true measurement!) matt and layerd a piece of the beautiful pale blue with pink roses paper onto a piece of pale pink card to make a frame.  I then used the Cuttlebug paisley embossing folder and cuttled a piece of pale blue core’dnations ………(I forgot to tell you about the core’dinations – this is also an essential if you Love your cuttlebug as I do! – Ill tell you more at the end…..)  sanded to give texture and reveal the colour, then inked around the edge with some contrasting pigment ink.  I cuttle a pice of pink in the same design and inked the edge in a toning pink colour.  Wrapped Ribbon around both pieces and layerd on the front of the card.

I then stamped the greeting (using my free stamps) inked the edges of the matts and adhered to the front of the card using foam pads.

I looked at the card and thought hmmmmmmmmmmm – so I decorated the back too – with the lovely paper as you get soooooo much in the pad I could afford it! and I think it adds a sense of absolute luxury to the finished design.

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by …..

Oooo PS I said I would tell you about core’dinations, this is a sand-able card stock with a coloured core which is perfect for the cuttlebug, and ripping and tearing BUT this new one has a coloured core with a white wash finish so when you emboss then sand it reveals the lovely subtle colour through the white wash – its absolutely stunning, I love it, its made for the cuttlebug!

Best Niece

Hi all – quick update today. Just cracked this off for our Niece who’s birthday it is next week, Ive used the new Smirk range of 8×8 papers, rubber stamps and embellishment tote – if you’ve not got these, you need them, there fabulous for tricky teenage and young adult cards, cute but funky, not to babified (if thats a word) I love them and the papers are amzingly good quality at 150gsm – Im going to invest in the 6×6 papers too as they’ll make fab quick but very effective square cards. Oh yes the word nice and the scalloped tag were cut on the Cricut. Off to eat my eggs!

Happy Easter

Can you tell that I love these create a scene stamps?  This one has been stamped in Dusty Concord Distress Ink, then the colour “pulled through” with a damp brush, layerd on some matching card stock and finally some glitter highlights and a cute bow……. Can’t help thinking something not quite right though!  I think I should have used a cark card base instead of white…………… there’s always tomorrow night to try that!  Thanks for looking

Create-a-Scene………

March 15, 2009 at 10:13 pm (General Cards)

…..also bought this Sheena Douglass theme plate at the NEC, and I love it…. Wrestled for a while trying to get a good impression, but think it was worth the wait!, not for the feint hearted, it takes a while to paint, but was very therapeutic… this is going to be for MIL on Mothers Day.  Background stamped and coloured with Lyra’s, front foreground stamped coloured and decoupaged over the background.  Simply matted onto some gold mirri and onto the base card, the main design is so detailed I did not think it needed anything else!………..  apologies for the photo quality, its late, my son is in bed and I am trying to keep the noise down! …………..

Daisy and Dandelion ….

March 15, 2009 at 6:04 pm (General Cards)

Hi all

Paid a very impromptu visit to the NEC yesterday, with a good friend who drove me :) …  Bought some lovely bits and bobs, and having a good old play today.  Made these two cards with the lovely new set of stamps Daisy and Dandelion – this is Daisy, I’ll be making a Dandelion card soon.  The papers are from the co-ordinating paper pad, which is an absolute bargain at £2.99 for 30 sheets of paper (30 different co-ordinating designs).  The images are coloured with Lyra’s (another purchase from yesterday!)  The shapes that Daisy is sitting on have been cut with the Cricut.  Thanks for stopping by

Ive used stardream card, and the ribbon the real invites of she chooses that one will be brown to match her theme!

What do you think, are they too plain? Could they be imporved in any way? – your suggestions would be most welcome.
