My personal favourite …… One too many sherries!

Hi all

It’s been such a hectic week, I feel I have neglected you all terribly… sorry.   I wish I could say that the business has been craft related, but sadly not, as my “real” job has been taking up my spare time…. but I think there is light at the end of the tunnel!

As promised I have re-created my favourite Christmas Cute Companion Card…  I forgot to photograph it before it went to be included in the show …..  with a slight change!  I’ve created it using a DL size this time, it was A5 the last time (for anyone who wants to see the original its on Sara’s site now Original Card about half way down on the right.  I think I prefer the A5 version as you can see more snowy Sky……

I just love these two little mice and I like to think that the little one staring up at the stars has had one to many sherries and has decided to just  take a little lie down and look at the stars while dreaming happy Christmas thoughts! (is it just my strange imagination)……

Screen Test Success

I have been DYING to tell you all, I’ve had to keep stuffing my mouth full of Cotton Wool (Ok if I’m honest it was Chocolate!) to stop me blabbing, but now its official I can let the cat out the bag!!!!   I have been for a screen test at Ideal World (last Wednesday) and PASSED!  I can’t begin to tell you what a fantastic experience it was!  Andy Love was my presenter and what a lovely down to earth guy, he really put me at ease by having a good old joke with me beforehand.  I was a bag of nerves, but every single one of the staff were amazing, and gave me fantastic advice, Ed the Director deserves a special mention here! and also Stephanie who let me sit in and watch the two live Little and Large shows with Michele last Tuesday evening which helped me enormously with Wednesday’s main event!  I have to say I have absolute renewed respect for these presenters who are true professionals, and have 3 million things to think of at once when presenting a show, seeing it in action really makes you appreciate what a fantastic job they do.

Sitting in the green room with Mr Hot Hair (the lovely welsh man with hair to die for), Jerome Alexander (mineral make-up), Sheila the fab model, Mr Dufex, and meeting the Glitter Girls! was just well WOW!

So – not quite sure when I will be hitting your screens, but can’t wait, the experience was absolutely amazing, and I have to be honest, if I never appeared on the screen again my two days at Ideal World will go on my list of most amazing lifetime experiences……. and for this I must say a HUGE THANK YOU to my friend Michele Marsden (who is more like me than I am) for making it all possible, you are a rare to find true friend and you are appreciated every single day …… x

Like a Bat out of Hell…..

……….  Well I am back from an exhausting weekend in Scarborough and Bridlington, but what a fantastic time we had.  We managed to cram the full British seaside sensation into 1 night believe it or not! I arrived at the cheap but cheerful and very clean B&B first, and got to work chilling the wine in the en-suite sink!  (NB fill sink to brim with cold water, place in bottle of un-opened wine and wait!).  I managed to watch the first Strictly show and munch my way through two mini packs of bourbon biscuits with a cappuccino!   Michele arrived and after we had managed to get the car parked and navigate the stairs to our room I got the wine un-corked…  We set off for Scarborough front, but got a bit dis-oriented (with all the chin wagging) and had to phone a cab to rescue us and take us to ASK, we had a really lovely meal (and in Michele’s words at this point we were feeling a bit fresh, this is known as tipsy in Geordie tongue!)  off we set for a little fresh air and small dabble in the amusements, 50p in change and a dabble on the 2p slots (last of the big spenders!) and we were on the move again!….this is where it goes down hill!  We found, wait for it ………… a karaoke …. 2 drinks and some toe tapping later and I found myself writing down on a piece of paper.. “Leann and Michele – Bat out of Hell!” – now I feel that it is important you know Michele made me do it, my hand was well and truly twisted up my back! I had no choice what so ever!……  now when I sing I sound like Les Dawson with a throat infection!, but Michele, boy can she belt out a tune, and it was a really good giggle (although I did feel like Danny Devito to Michele’s Arnie aka the twins movie!).  back to the B&B for a good nights sleep, ready for the craft workshop in Brid on the Sunday….

I was thoroughly looking forward to the drive as Michele brought the two seater and we were putting the top down, very Bridget Jones… BUT have you ever tried to fit in a boot the size of a shoe box, 2 large cases, we had to pack enough for emergencies!, enough crafting material for 27 people on a workshop, coats, hand bags paper trimmers and all other necessary paraphernalia in a two seater with the roof down! ….. well guess who ended up with a v large case on her knee…. which kind of ruined the two girls out for the weekend with the top down Thelma and Louise look! yep me!

We eventually arrived at Brid and had a great time with all of the lovely ladies there, but I was jiggered at the end of the day, and pleased when my head hit the pillow last night.

It’s been a bit of a ramble, but I thought I would share the weekend’s adventure with you…..

Catch up soon, Leann x

What a weekend…….

Well I can’t wait for the weekend…. really I can’t……. there are so many fab things to look forward to……

Sara (Crafters Companion) is launching the new Cute Companion CD, DVD and 6 stamp plates on Saturday and Sunday, I’ve been making samples for the DVD and the upcoming shows for weeks and I really can’t wait to see them on the big screen, there amazing, Jayne and Sara have really and truly excelled themselves in my opinion….  Ill post some images of the cards (and things) I made once the shows are over…… Probably on Monday night……. (but I forgot to photograph my advent calendar, hint hint…. so Ill just have to record that show :) …..

In fact, I’ll have to record all of the shows, as I am off to Scarborough tomorrow, to meet Michele (Marsden) we hare having a girly meal out and stay over in a hotel (I am sure there will be much vino (collapso (sassy! LOL))… and then we are off to Bridlington to run a workshop for the day and I CAN’T WAIT.    Have tried to train hubby in the use of SKY plus, there will be trouble and fireworks if he misses taping just one of Sara’s shows!  He will have to be banished to the shed for a whole week LOL.

OK, I’m off to watch the Tudors and drool over Jonathan Rhys Myers (I think I would make a very efficient Mrs Myers don’t know what hubby would say….. Oh well one can dream :) )

Catch you all later
